Vacancy for a Coach for the 23/24 Season

Milton Keynes Hockey Club - Ladies 1XI Coach Vacancy

Milton Keynes is a well established hockey club based at Woughton on the Green.
Recently awarded City status, Milton Keynes is an ever-growing community with plans for a university in the next couple of years. As a coach working with our club committee, there is an exciting opportunity to capitalise on this growth and have a direct impact on our progression and our ambitions for National League.

Currently competing in the South Central Leagues, we have 4 ladies teams (Premier Division 2 - Division 4 Cherwell) and 5 mens teams (Premier Division 2 - Division 3 Cherwell) as well as a Junior section (U8s - U16s) feeding our senior teams.

We are looking for an experienced coach for our Ladies 1XI who can help the team become more established in the Prem Div 2 league as well as drive development through the lower teams and draw new players to the club. We would want the Ladies 1XI coach to travel with the team on Saturdays to manage and adapt the gameplay, but would consider weekdays only for the right candidate. Our ladies teams train on a Tuesday evening but there is potential for flexibility on this arrangement.

We are a welcoming and sociable hockey club, and we are looking for enthusiastic coaches who can help us strengthen our higher teams and develop & nurture our lower teams and juniors.

For this position as Ladies 1XI coach, we would be asking for commitment to the below responsibilities:
Plan and implement a pre-season training programme which would include fitness, training sessions and friendlies.
Plan and run engaging and appropriately challenging training sessions with the aim to develop and strengthen the squad.
Coordinate with other coaches and captains to select the squads with both team performance and individual development in mind.
Work with coaches and club leadership to ensure development throughout the club and to attract new players.
Monitor performance, commitment and provide feedback on a team and individual level.
Travel with the Ladies 1XI on Saturdays to manage gameplay and adapt tactics to achieve results - would consider weekdays only for the right candidate.

Candidates would preferably have a Level 2 UK coaching qualification, or would be keen to work towards it, and be eligible to work in the UK. We would also be looking for experience as either coach or player at a high level.

Pay to be discussed upon enquiry and would be dependent on qualifications & experience - any successful candidate would be subject to a DBS check.

If interested, please send a summary of your experience and covering letter to alexandra.jayne.harmon@gmail.com (Director of Ladies Hockey - Milton Keynes HC).
